Pearldiver Recovered

Thumbs up for a successful 7 month glider mission (and back!) into the Labrador Sea!!! In December 2019 we deployed a glider into the Labrador Sea to collect temperature, salinity and oxygen data in the winter time as part of the HOTSeALS project. Now we have our glider back safely in our lab almost full to the max with data covering the deep convection period and excited to begin analyzing this dataset.

Below is a glider track map with some stats for the complete Labrador Sea deployment: over 4500 km, 207 days at sea. What a journey this has been! Tremendous thanks to Brad deYoung, Neil Riggs, Mark Downey, Taimaz Bahadory and Mingxi Zhou for keeping each other sane and being the best team one could wish for!!! Stay tuned for new papers together with our friends at NOC šŸ™‚
